Aspen, Colorado – A Top Destination anytime of Year
    By: Rahul Jain

If you've always wanted to visit the majestic Rocky Mountains, there’s no better place than Aspen, Colorado. This popular resort town offers just about everything you would need for an active vacation getaway.

Aspen, located in the heart of the Rocky Mountains, is less than 200 miles away from Denver, Colorado. With plenty of buses traveling this route, it’s only a three-hour ride away. Or you can choose to rent a car, but just make sure you have chains available for your tires during the winter season; at almost 8,000 feet high, the weather is sure to catch you by surprise, with extreme changes in temperatures especially in the fall and spring seasons. If traveling to Aspen from October through April, lows won’t go much above freezing. And snowfall during the winter months is unusually heavy, which means you can often ski through late May.

And because of the abundant snow, Aspen is a prime location for ski enthusiasts. Here, you’ll have your choice of four different ski areas that are hard to beat anywhere in the world. After all, Aspen is known as the ski playground of the rich and famous.

But Aspen offers much more than just winter weather fun. Aspen is home to some of the most beautiful hiking trails in the country. Or spend time climbing challenging mountainsides or rafting and kayaking through the white rivers that grace its landscape. Another must activity is mountain biking through hundreds of miles of hilly terrain.

But if you’re looking for something a bit less strenuous, don’t fret. In Aspen, there’s plenty to do. Take a stroll through the town’s quaint city streets where you can catch a glimpse of Victorian style architecture or visit a nearby authentic ghost town dating back to the 19th century.

If art is your fancy, you’ll be in heaven when visiting Aspen. This Rocky Mountain resort town will surely impress art aficionados with its wealth of quality art galleries that line its streets. And if you’re thirsting for even more culture, spend a night at the opera at the town’s Wheeler Opera House.

Aspen’s delights never cease to amaze.

Stay in a New York Hotel in the center of Manhattan and you’ll be surrounded by endless cultural and dining venues, which are hard to match.
